“It is better to follow the voice inside and be at war with the whole world, than to follow the ways of the world and be at war with our deepest self.”
~ Michael Pastore
“Dwell as near as possible to the channel in which your life flows.”
~ David Thoreau
Coherency. Look closely at “coherency.” Embedded is the word “her.”
Co-HER-ency.
True coherency comes when we know the Sacred Feminine within us.
However, many of us who have enjoyed success often rely heavily on the qualities of our Inner Masculine. We push, persevere, reason out solutions and take control in most situations. We identify with our intellect and sometimes push beyond the limits of our bodies to get results.
Many of us who have succeeded in the fast-paced world of commerce, or scaled career heights, have a well-developed Masculine honed through our intellect-driven educational system. Therefore most of us have a less, or totally, undeveloped Inner Feminine. We tap into the great drive of our Inner Masculine—and that is fabulous, but in the process, we may leave behind something equally powerful.
The Inner Feminine, or the Anima, as psychologist Carl Jung called it, is intuitive, wise, boldly truth-telling. The Anima is the great guardian of the Earth and all that is living. The Inner Feminine is that still, small voice within that brings higher wisdom. The Feminine is the Soul, Jung explained, and the body houses it.
When we are aligned with the Anima, we are truly tuned into the supreme Feminine aspect of the Divine. When we are in sync with her, then all the actions that rise of our Masculine self resonate with energy, power and truth. When we are fully connected to our Anima, we act in harmony with her wisdom and guidance. And then we are coherent.
Visualize a vibrating wave or swinging pendulum as it finds its momentary point of equilibrium and comes to balance. In the coherent state of being, we are so in harmony with our inner and outer energy fields, we are like a vibrating tuning fork. We feel when anything is out of balance around or within us. When we act in a way that brings things back into equilibrium, then we are living coherently. And we are living our greatness. This kind of vibratory integrity is what happens when we are in harmony with the essence of who we are. When your outer life is in alignment with your inner life, you are coherent. Then you have the essential quality for greatness.
When we are connected to the Feminine, we are connected to our bodies and to the Soul that guides our deeper purpose. Once we know our mission in life or at the helm of leadership, it is much easier to hold to the standards that reflect our values and to live by them in all our choices and actions. We are constantly tested to be more coherent with what we hold dearest.
It is so critical to flex the musculature of coherency, so when we face these daunting tests and unexpected challenges, we will vibrate right into the center. To reach greatness, know what matters and take actions that support it.
Listening to our bodies is essential to reaching alignment with the Sacred Inner Feminine—but listening is not enough. The truly great listen to the wisdom of their deep Feminine and get results by tapping into the take-action Inner Masculine. All of us, whether Masculine or Feminine dominant, need to go for the center of the fulcrum—albeit always in motion, always demanding our recalibration in the face of discontinuous change.
Stop, Look and Listen to Your Body
Ever feel a knot in the pit of your stomach when you know you’re making the wrong decision?
Feel a headache, sniffles, upset digestion when you go along with others when you don’t want to?
Or ever experience a warmth in your heart or belly when you know a course of action is right?
The messages of your body are the voice of the Sacred Inner Feminine.
Stop, look and listen.
When making important decisions, tune into the language of the body. How does it say “yes,” “no” or “maybe”? When your actions align with these messages, you court greatness. Our bodies act as our “security” system.
Know your warning signals, and you make decisions that are true to your core beliefs. You become more coherent.
A coherent life is one that marries Knowing to Action and Action to Knowing. So on this Valentine’s Day, look to the marriage that transcends candies and roses.
Commit to living the truth that lives deep within you, and you commit to greatness.
