With the Spring Equinox, Passover, and Easter, this time of year is one of renewal, regrowth (and new growth), freedom, and the chance to start fresh, to restore—and re-story—our lives and our work. Taking a longer view, we can see signs that as humans, we are in the spring of our existence, emerging from a […]
What's Next?
Most of us are asking the same life-altering questions as we find ourselves standing at the precipice of change: How do I make decisions now since I don’t know who I’m going to be . . . or what the world will be like by then?
Connecting the Dots
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. The Difference between Reinventing and Rearranging
When a room in your home doesn’t serve you—the space doesn’t work for how you use the room; the furniture is too big, too small, too inappropriate for the task; and the overall atmosphere is too closed, too open, too shabby, too stressful—you have a couple of options. A recent article, “44 Female Founders Every Entrepreneur Should Know,” was heartening to see. We need more publicity for accomplished women, particularly in STEM fields, to inspire all women to unleash their own visionary voices and step unabashedly into what has heretofore been seen as the domain of men.
Would You Turn Down $795 Billion?
A recent study by Booz & Co. reveals that if the U.S. employment rate for women were to become equal to that of men over the next 10 years, we would likely see an increase of at least 5% in our GDP. Now, think about this for a moment. We’re not even talking about equality within the workplace. Simply making it possible for women to have the same chance at employment is worth $795 billion.
