In what ways does the pandemic offer us new opportunities?

During this time, everything has collapsed around us: the market has gone negative, unemployment has gone through the roof, and medical and social service organizations are struggling across the country as they are overburdened by the demands of coronavirus.

It is like the Wizard of Oz: When the curtain drops, we see that behind all the bright colors and magic of OZ, is just a little old guy pushing buttons…

This is the kind of breakthrough that COVID- 19 is bringing with it. Many of us are looking past what is illusory to what is real success and meaning.

If we are present to the moment and every moment, there are messengers and symbols that come towards us and show up and we have to pay attention. Before COVID, we were running around distracted. Most of us did not see, hear, or pay attention to signs surrounding us. We now need to follow the messengers that the universe is sending to us.

Because we are online so much, we can learn a lot to increase our skills and knowledge. With everybody on Zoom, this is a great chance to build relationships around the globe in areas and specialties you had never before imagined.

In reaching out to people that matter to me, new opportunities and ideas are happening that would not have happened if we were running around. We are all taking the time to connect in a meaningful way.

There’s a sifting and sorting that is going on—and many of us are looking at what our priorities are and who we want to be as we rebuild and reinvent to accommodate this new reality.
