The determining factor, actually, is the culture. If you work somewhere that demonstrates that it is truly committed to fully supporting self- and professional-development, count your blessings and your good judgment!
Simple truth is, it is of utmost importance that continuous learning and development and self-realization are the foundations for true leadership; it doesn’t matter whether you are in an enterprise, a non-profit, or an entrepreneurial setting.
What matters most is the leadership of the entity – and that it offers the kind of continuous, long life professional growth opportunities that invite development of the entire workforce, at all stages of their careers.
Whether you are an intrapreneur or an entrepreneur, empowerment comes with continuing to grow through out your long life, challenging oneself to do new things, and have opportunities to contribute our signature gifts.
