Time With Sands – Better Sectors for Aging

Do you think certain sectors offer better opportunities for empowerment as we age?

I do not know that there is a sector that offers better opportunities.
The key determining factor is how aware a specific enterprise is to the real value of age as in experience and developmental maturity. Offering better opportunities will come next, but I do not think we are there yet.

It is my hope that as more and more highly skilled and knowledge worker positions are not being filled by younger, also well educated, but less experienced candidates, employers in all sectors will finally realize the gift they have in the abundance of older workers who are willing to be flexible in their scheduling, have years of experience and training, plus the earned wisdom and learned resilience so critical in these VUCA times.

I am convinced that in the years ahead, we will start seeing more and more enterprises and innovative entrepreneurs in every sector and domain realizing what an asset older workers can be if given the opportunity to add great value.
